DIY Essential Oil Clay Mask | Young Living Essential Oils

Your face is usually the first thing people see. No matter whether you struggle with a combination, dry, or oily skin type, this purifying mud clay mask can help you put your best face forward. We’ve created this Moroccan rhassoul clay facial mask and essential oil blend recipe to help draw out impurities, remove dead skin cells, and give you the glowing skin you’ve been looking for without over-drying. Like the popular bentonite clay or Dead Sea mud, Moroccan rhassoul clay is naturally derived from volcanic deposits and can assist in absorbing excess oil without having to turn to expensive spa treatments or chemically harsh skin care products. Ingredients: • 1 tablespoon rhassoul clay • 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel • 1 tablespoon water • 5 drops Geranium essential oil • 3 drops Tea Tree essential oil • 2 drops Lemon essential oil Instructions: Mix all the ingredients together to form a thick paste. Add more water and aloe vera 1 teaspoon at a time if you want the mixture to be thinner. The mask should be thick enough that you can spread it on easily. To use 1. Apply the mask evenly to a clean, dry face with your fingers. 2. Let the mask dry for 10-15 minutes; you don’t need to wait for it to dry fully. 3. Rinse well, pat dry, and apply a light moisturizer. 4. Use once a week. 5. Store paste in an airtight jar for up to a month. YL tip: Combination skin? Apply the mask only to your oily areas to avoid over-drying the dry parts of your skin. DIY Cocoa-Mint Massage Bar | Young Living Essential Oils

Rough workout? Long day in the office? Give your sore muscles some attention with a cocoa-mint-infused lotion bar that you can use for massages, thanks to built-in nubs that help you hit your sore spots. Cocoa butter, coconut oil, and almond oil combine to make this bar ultra-moisturizing, while Peppermint and Copaiba essential oils help soothe tired muscles. Yield: 3-4 massage bars   Ingredients  • ½ cup beeswax pellets • ¼ cup cocoa butter, cut into small chunks • 2 tablespoons sweet almond oil • 1 tablespoon coconut oil • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder • 5 drops Peppermint essential oil • 5 drops Spearmint essential oil • 3 drops Cinnamon Bark essential oil • 3 drops Copaiba essential oil • Silicone mold with nubs on the bottom   Instructions: 1. Add beeswax and cocoa butter to a double boiler over low-medium heat until melted. Be careful not to overheat or melt too quickly—low and slow is best. 2. Once the beeswax and cocoa butter are melted, turn off the heat and add sweet almond oil and coconut oil. Stir to combine. 3. Add cocoa powder and mix well until it is fully incorporated; make sure there are no lumps! 4. Pour the mixture into a mold of your choosing. Let mixture cool for 5 minutes.  5. Add essential oils: 5 drops Peppermint, 5 drops Spearmint, 3 drops Cinnamon Bark, and 3 drops Copaiba to each massage bar. Mix in with a toothpick.   YL TIP: Waiting until the cocoa butter and beeswax mixture cools slightly before adding essential oils keeps the temperature consistent for those precious drops.   6. Let cool completely in the fridge before popping the massage bar out of the mold. 7. Store in a sealed container and keep away from heat to keep the bar from melting.   To use: Rub the textured side of the bar along your back, feet, legs—sore muscles love the extra attention! The textured bottom adds to the massage experience, while the Peppermint and Spearmint leave a tingling sensation on your skin. DIY YL Essential Oil Loofah Soaps | Young Living Essential Oils

DIY YL Essential Oil Loofah Soaps | Young Living Essential Oils

DIY loofah soaps are easier than you think! Homemade loofah soaps are great for exfoliating in the tub or anywhere else you like to wash up. You can keep a couple of loofah soaps by the sink for a refreshing hand wash and keep a few in the shower for skin. DIY loofah soaps require only a handful of ingredients and a few easy steps. The hardest part is choosing which essential oils and cute silicone molds to use! Ingredients: • 3 natural loofah sponges about 5-6 inches long each • String • 2 pounds clear glycerin soap • Soap dye • Essential Oils (For a floral scent, Geranium and Lavender Essential Oils are used in this video) • Round silicone molds about 3 inches in diameter Instructions: 1. Cut the loofah sponge into 1-inch-wide disks and lay flat in the bottom of the mold. YL tip: Tie a string around your loofah before you place it in the mold. The string allows you to hang it from a hook in your shower, so you never drop the soap again! 2. Cut the glycerin soap into about 1-ounce squares. Put 2 squares in a microwavable bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds or until melted. YL tip: Two squares make 1 soap. To make larger batches, melt more soap and add the proper amount of oil and dye to keep the ratios the same. We like making individual soaps so we can customize scents and colors. (6 oz for 3 soaps are used in this video) 3. Add 3-4 drops of soap dye and 3-4 drops of your favorite essential oils to the melted glycerin soap. Mix well. 4. Pour the glycerin soap mixture into the mold. 5. Repeat until all the loofahs are covered with glycerin soap. Let them dry for 2-3 hours, pop the soaps out of the mold, and lather up! DIY Bubble Bath Bars Using Young Living Essential Oils

Baths and bubbles—it’s a combination few can resist. If you’re in the mood for a relaxing soak or ready for playtime, use our bubble bath bars, boosted by essential oils, to transform your everyday. Ingredients: • 1 cup baking soda, plus some extra • 1 cup sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSA)* • 1/3 cup corn starch • 1/3 cup cream of tartar • 1/3 cup vegetable glycerin • 1 tablespoon coconut oil • 1 tablespoon water • 20-30 drops essential oil—try our fun suggestions that can be found on the blog! • Natural soap dye or food coloring • Wax paper Directions: 1. Measure out all dry ingredients, and strain them through a fine mesh strainer to get rid of any clumps. Mix together with your hands. 2. In a separate bowl, measure out all wet ingredients, including your essential oils. Mix together. 3. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Mix with your hands until you form a dough with a somewhat crumbly texture. 4. Separate the dough into two bowls, and add natural soap dye or food coloring. Mix well by kneading with your hands until the color is fully incorporated. This may take a few minutes. 5. Put one piece of colored dough onto a sheet of wax paper sprinkled with baking soda. Using a rolling pin, flatten the dough into a rectangle shape about ½ inch thick, pressing together any cracks in the dough with your fingers. 6. Place the second piece of colored dough on top of the first, and use a rolling pin to flatten the dough to the same rectangular size as the first. The result is the two pieces layered on top of each other. 7. Using your wax paper, slowly begin to turn the dough over on itself to roll it up. Gently press any cracks together when they form, keeping the roll intact as much as possible. Keep rolling until you have a cylinder. YL Tip: If your roll is cracking a lot, drizzle a tiny amount of vegetable glycerin on cracking spots to help them stick. 8. Squeeze the ends in to make the roll tight. 9. Cut the roll into slices that are 1-2 inches thick. 10. For best results, let the bubble bars dry for at least 72 hours before use. To use: 1. Run a hot bath, and break up the bubble bar in the running water. 2. To control the amount of bubbles, take out the bubble bar when you have enough soap and bubbles. Store in a container for future use. 3. Enjoy! Have you tried out our bubble bars yet? What are your favorite essential oil combinations? Tell us in the comments below!
